1. Requirements for casting design ribs:
The function of the rib is to improve the strength and rigidity of the part after the wall thickness is thinned, to prevent the shrinkage and deformation of the casting from being reduced, and to avoid the deformation of the workpiece when it is ejected from the mold. Should be less than the thickness of the wall, generally take 2/3~3/4 of the thickness of the location;
2. Wall thickness requirements for casting design:
The wall thickness of the die casting is a factor of special significance in the die casting mold process. The wall thickness is closely related to the entire process specification, such as the calculation of the filling time, the selection of the gate speed, the calculation of the solidification time, and the analysis of the mold temperature gradient. The effect of pressure (final specific pressure), the length of mold retention time, the level of ejection temperature of castings and operating efficiency;
(1) If the wall thickness of the part is too thick, the mechanical properties of the die casting will be significantly reduced, and the thin-walled casting has good compactness, which relatively improves the strength and pressure resistance of the casting;
(2) The wall thickness of the casting should not be too thin. If it is too thin, it will cause poor filling of the aluminum liquid, difficulty in forming, poor welding of the aluminum alloy, and defects such as cold separation on the surface of the casting, which will bring difficulties to the die-casting process; As the thickness increases, the internal pores, shrinkage holes and other defects increase. Therefore, on the premise of ensuring sufficient strength and rigidity of the casting, the wall thickness of the casting should be reduced as much as possible and the thickness of the section should be kept uniform. The thickness of the thick wall of the casting should be reduced (material reduction) and ribs should be increased; for large-area flat plate thick-walled castings, ribs should be set to reduce the wall thickness of the casting;
3. Shape and structure requirements of die castings:
(1) Eliminate internal undercut;
(2) Avoid or reduce core pulling parts;
(3) Avoid core crossing;
